Simkins teams up with industry colleagues to win Blackstone Chambers Media Quiz
Simkins masterminds Ed Weidman, Katherine Hooley, Ben Gershinson and Catherine Clover teamed up with industry colleagues Michael Williams from PPL, Justin Goldspink from GSC Solicitors, Chris Bull and Farhan Shahid from PRS for Music, and Tom Richards KC and Danny Compton from Blackstone Chambers, to win the annual Blackstone Chambers Media Quiz.
The team, 'Automatic for the PPL', showed particular prowess in the literature round, identifying the first lines of novels ranging from The Bell Jar to The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Standout questions correctly answered by the team included what the acronym 'WOB' refers to in the tabloid press, and where 'banging out' takes place.
