Protect your information - Companies House changes
Companies House is in the process of implementing further changes following the enactment of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. The latest set of measures designed to protect personal data will be welcomed by many.
From 27 January 2025, individuals can apply to suppress, from historical documents, a company’s registered office address where it is their home address.
During the course of Spring and Summer of 2025, individuals can apply to suppress the following information from historical documents:
- residential addresses when shown elsewhere on the register (in most instances);
- day of birth for documents registered before 10 October 2015 (days of birth have not been publicly displayed since 10 October 2015);
- signatures; and
- business occupation.
For other key dates, please see our previous update here on the measures scheduled to take effect over the next few months.
We will continue to provide further updates when the timetable for implementation is confirmed.
