Partner Gideon Benaim wins Lawyer of the Year (Reputation) at the Spear's Awards 2023

Referring to the current controversy over SLAPPs, one judge commented that they "were surprised that so few people have taken a public stand … but [Gideon] was a notable exception." They went on to say "it is important to stand up to what is a severe attack on the freedom of those with reputations to be able to protect them. It is a genuine afront to constitutional principles and the work [Gideon] has done on it is highly relevant."

For more than a decade, the Spear's Awards have celebrated leading figures from the private client world, including private client advisers, wealth managers and lawyers. Winners are selected by a judging committee of experts, together with the Spear's Research Unit, who evaluate hundreds of high calibre submissions each year.

The ceremony was held at The Landmark London on Wednesday 22 November.
