Legal 500 lists Simkins as leaders in their fields

Simkins has again been recognised as one of the leading firms in a number of sectors in the new 2017 Legal 500 edition.

The firm continues to be ranked in band 1 in the Media & Entertainment sector, with Legal 500 describing the group as an “ ‘extremely commercial’ team [that] provides ‘reliable advice’, has ‘great industry knowledge’ and delivers a ‘partner-led service’ across the music, TV, film, theatre, digital media, publishing, and advertising and marketing sectors”. Euan Lawson, Paddy Gardiner and Ed Baden-Powell were all listed as leading individuals.

In addition, the firm was named as a leading firm in respect of both Brand Management and Sports work.

The Defamation group continues to be listed as leaders in their field and is “particularly good at dealing with heavyweight matters for both individuals and corporate clients”. With group head Gideon Benaim described as “a thoughtful and considered advocate whose planning in strategic battles is exceptional”.

Simkins’ employment team received a well-deserved mention; described as an “excellent’ group” which “is rated for its ‘timely and accurate advice’ and ‘solid understanding’ of employment law matters, with particular strength in handling exit negotiations and discrimination claims for senior executives”.
