High Profile Litigation in the Media Spotlight
Conference
Gideon Benaim will be speaking about dealing with high profile litigation in the media spotlight at the C5 Conference on Fraud, Asset Tracing and Recovery in Geneva on Friday morning 28 March 2014, together with Keith Oliver Senior Partner at Peters & Peters and Stuart Leach Head of Litigation Support at Bell Pottinger.
Whilst the substantive litigation is obviously important, it is also extremely important to ensure that clients have the reputational angle properly covered too. Clients needs to continue with their business when the case is over, so the consequences of getting the reputational aspects wrong are potentially grave.
Fundamentally, clients need to have good communications professionals on their side. They need communications advisors who, apart from having great journalistic contacts and an ability to condense complicated details into concise messaging, have an understanding of litigation and the basic limitations on what is permissible under the law, so that they don’t inadvertently do things that are improper. Depending on the facts, it may be extremely useful to bring lawyers with reputation protection experience on-board at an early stage too.
Gideon will discuss the various risks and considerations involved in conducting high profile litigation under the spotlight.
