Employment Seminar: An Employment Tribunal Masterclass

According to figures released for the first quarter of 2018, following the abolition of employment tribunal fees last year, the number of tribunal cases issued has more than doubled compared to the same period in 2017.

Employers are now therefore more likely than in recent times, to be faced with tribunal litigation, whether claims are meritorious or not.

The next event in our series of breakfast seminars is an Employment Tribunal Masterclass, focussing on key considerations for HR practitioners and business managers faced with defending employment tribunal claims.

Topics covered

The Masterclass will be run by our expert team of employment lawyers, in conjunction with experienced employment barrister Thomas Cordrey from Devereux Chambers. We will focus on the key issues and practical tips for respondents and will take attendees through:

    • the tribunal process
    • effective interaction with legal & HR/business teams
    • what actually happens in an employment tribunal
    • use of a case study to simulate cross examination of a respondent’s key witness
    • top tips for giving evidence and being a witness in the employment tribunal
    • the sharing of real life tribunal experiences of our presenters and attendees

Who should attend?

This interactive session will be an invaluable tool for managers, HR directors and anyone who is likely to have to participate in any form of employment tribunal litigation.

If you are interested in attending, please send your name, company name, position held and a contact email address to Nicola.wells@simkins.com for further details.

Places are limited so do register your interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
